No effort or costs were spared for the 1250 plus objects in Sri Ramanasramam, most of them cellulose nitrate negatives, silver halide prints, POP Prints and some glass plates.
Inter positives, duplicate negatives and acid free prints were made and housed in archival envelopes/folder/conservation matts.
All stored under critical air conditioning (20 Celsius and 40% RH). Safe materials were sourced (PAT Passed) and used for storage of films and prints.
The project progressed at a fairly brisk pace and was complete in sixteen years. All the film images were digitised (2007-08) using an unconventional system (aerial captures).
